Introduction of pharmacology

 

1.1. Introduction

 It is the science of drugs as it deals with the interaction of exogenously administered chemical molecules (drugs) with the living system. Father of pharmacology: Oswald Schmiedeberg. The two main divisions of pharmacology are:

1. Pharmacokinetics: what the body does to a drug

2. Pharmacodynamics: what the drug does to the body.
